888 will continue to operate the World Series of Poker brand online poker platform, under the terms of an exclusive B2B multi-year extension agreement between the group and Caesars Intractive Entertainment.
For its part, Caesars will use 888’s turnkey poker platform and services in the United States for its WSOP online poker rooms.
888 plans to launch its new poker software, Poker 8 in the US via the agreement. Poker 8 has already gone live in Europe.
The collaboration between 888 Holdings and Caesars has resulted in the only interstate shared-player liquidity online poker network in the US between three states: Delaware, New Jersey and Nevada. 888 will continue to power this network.
888 will continue to supply its in-house online casino platform and content to Caesars online casino brands, namely WSOP Casino and Harrah’s in New Jersey.
The executive director of the WSOP and SVP of Caears Interactive Entertainment, Ty Stewart said: “We’re proud of the success story to date, particularly the record-setting tournament events of 2020, and are optimistic about the future of real money online poker in the U.S.”
Also commenting was Yaniv Sherman, head of 888 in the US, who pointed out that the partnership with Caesars has powered the WSOP brand online since 2013, and his group looked forward to continuing this relationship for many years to come.
He also said that 888 was excited about the prospect of adding new states to the interstate online poker network. It’s hoped that 888 will be able to gain a presence in new jurisdictions across the country where Caears already has an operating license. Michigan recently signed a bill that will allow online poker to be played across state lines as part of a shared liquidity network.
“Our extended relationship will also enable 888 to gain a presence in new U.S states following the required regulatory approvals, which presents an important opportunity in our long-term development strategy for the U.S. market,” added Yaniv.
