The sports betting and igaming provider, FanDuel has entered into a multi-year agreement with International Game Technology (IGT), it was announced today. This is an expansion of an existing agreement which was penned in 2018 and which proven to be one of the most fruit-bearing deals struck between two betting giants in recent years.
Under the terms of the agreement, all of FanDuel’s sportsbooks across the United States will be powered by IGT’s PlaySports platform. FanDuel will also offer IGT’s PlayCasino games in states where FanDuel operates.
The CEO of FanDuel Group, Matt King, said in a press release that IGT’s PlaySports platform has been integral to FanDuel Sportsbooks’ expansion in the US.
“IGT is the strategic partner that we will lean on to help us expand our retail footprint across the U.S. IGT’s PlaySports platform enables us to create an intuitive, technologically driven customer experience at our world-class retail sportsbooks for our customers, while its PlayCasino content enables FanDuel to deliver premium mobile casino entertainment in new and existing markets,” he added.
Enrico Drago, speaking for IGT, said the multi-faceted, multi-year agreement signed with the FanDuel group paired the leading content and B2B sports betting provider with one of the US’s most respected sports betting operators, to propel the existing partnership to new levels. The deal, he said, would create an abundance of opportunity for both parties.
IGT said that both companies were also positioned for continued success in the United States.
“We are committed to fueling FanDuel Sportsbooks’ sustained growth through our proven, market-ready platform, player-preferred game content and self-service betting technologies,” he said.
Since signing the intial deal, IGT and FanDuel have launched retail sportsbooks across eight states, online sportsbooks in five states and deployed hundreds of IGT PlaySports self-service betting kiosks across the nation.
